BAA Mechanical Engineers Inc., formerly Britt Alderman Associates, is a Consulting Engineering Firm specializing in HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection. The firm was established in 1946 by Britt Alderman Jr. and the present management team of R. Lamar Lee, President, and John E. Mayes, Vice President, have been in place since 1987.
We currently have 10 employees consisting of three Professional Engineers, two Senior Designers, three Designers, one Designer-Intern/CADD Operator, and one Office Administrator/Bookkeeper. It is small enough to allow the principals of the firm to be directly involved on a day-to-day basis in every project and yet sufficient in size to handle large complex projects.
This hands-on management approach provides a better designed project since the people with the most experience are involved in the project. In this business, there is no substitute for experience.
BAA has a LEED Accredited Professional certified by the U.S. Green Building Council which is the nation’s foremost coalition of leaders from across the building industry working to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy places to live and work. The firm takes seriously its responsibility to the environment in which we work and live. To date, the firm has been involved with five projects which have obtained, or are in the process of obtaining LEED certification.
The firm’s experience and expertise extends into a variety of areas and interest. Included are:
Educational Facilities including College Laboratories/Science Buildings and Art Buildings
Field Houses, Gyms, and Stadiums
Garages and Vehicle Maintenance Facilities

BAA is a customer-oriented firm that provides great service while producing a well-designed and coordinated project. Our experience allows us to identify problems and solve them during the design phase rather than in the construction phase. This saves construction time and keeps changes to a minimum during construction.
